About The Work
The Work is a simple yet powerful self-inquiry tool for working directly with your own thinking and limiting beliefs in the places you get stuck and experience stress. As a practice it enables you to resolve issues, shift underlying patterns and access more possibility thinking, peace, clarity and wise action in your life, relationships and work. |
I don’t let go of my thoughts, I meet them with understanding and they let go of me. - Byron Katie |
"I find that The Work helps me to both identify the stressful thoughts that limit my ability to be of full service to a group and to open up beyond those thoughts so that I can be a more useful resource. It also helps me to confront what I fear most in a group – conflict in my case – and to name it clearly and compassionately so that we can move through the energy that often disables a group when members are in unspoken confrontation with each other." - Chris Corrigan, facilitator and organizational consultant

"I’ve been noticing how much lighter I’ve been feeling lately, and it’s got nothing to do with food. It’s a lightness of mind, and an excitement about life. I like it a lot, and have realized I’ve gone many years now without that feeling… so I thank you for helping me find that again."
- Leah Serna, nutritionist and mother

Caitlin and The Work
The Work is a simple yet profoundly powerful process of self-inquiry. By learning to identify our own stressful thoughts and limiting beliefs, and meeting them with curiosity guided by the questions of The Work, we are able to access insight and understanding that opens space for peaceful and joyful experience and wise, decisive action in our lives and work. This Work is accessible to anyone willing to open their mind and heart to honestly answer the questions.
The Work is my own core practice and after 15 years I continue to be amazed at the power of this process in both my personal and professional life. I have experienced:
- Increased connection and happiness in my personal and professional relationships
- Less unhealthy stress and more joy in life and work
- New awareness of possibility in places I was stuck
- Profound learning about myself
- Courage to step into many new things in my life and work
- Noticeable shift in unhealthy life patterns
- Resolution and healing in places of hurt and conflict
There is no area of my life that has not been enhanced by this Work and I am so deeply grateful for it.

"It is my experience that The Work gives me the opportunity to truly realize for myself, in the most challenging areas of my own life, what I hear from spiritual teachers when they speak and write about peace, acceptance, connection and love. After practicing meditation and yoga for decades, I am still amazed at the multitude of thoughts that arise in my mind, and at how disruptive they can be when they remain unquestioned. I would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat (in The Work) to anyone who is interested in bringing balance, peace and poise from the meditation seat and yoga mat into the other hours of the day and night." - Vivian Chenard, Salt Spring Centre of Yoga
